When performing research for a written piece, it is not uncommon for individuals to solely rely on the web instead of printed sources. To give proper credit to sources used, information gathered from a website must be cited in the bibliography. Write the author's last name, a comma, then the first initial followed by a period and a comma.
Websites with one author: Place the author’s name in reverse order, the last name first, followed by a comma, and then the first name followed by a period. The title of the web page or article is placed in quotation marks, with a period before the end quotation. The title of the website is written in italics followed by a comma.

To cite a source, simply put the author's name and the date of the publication in parentheses (Author, date) in your text. If the person reading your report wants to find the information and read more about it, they can look up the reference in your bibliography for more detail about the source.
